Craft Beer, Community, and Careers

For the second in our series of 2020 Community Conversations, we’re excited to be taking the event out into the community in partnership with our friends at Focus: HOPE, a Detroit-based nonprofit organization that has pledged intelligent and practical action to overcome racism, poverty, and injustice since 1968. Please join us at Focus: HOPE on Thursday, February 20, for a panel discussion that will focus on jobs, craft beer, and equity.

For this discussion, we’ll be bringing together a diverse group of panelists with experience in the brewing industry to discuss ways that we can create equity in jobs in the craft beer industry.

– Dayne Bartscht, Owner, Eastern Market Brewing Co.
– Edwin Collazo, Owner, City Built Brewing Company
– Brianne Hubbard-Ross, Taproom Manager and Sales Manager, Creston Brewery
– Kuma Ofori-Mensa, Brand Manager, Batch Brewing Company, with extensive brewing experience
– Gabe Torres, Brewer, Eastern Market Brewing Co.

After the panel discussion, there will be time for questions and comments, followed by an opportunity to continue the conversation and network while learning more about different beer styles. The event is free, but please consider making a donation to support Focus: HOPE’s mission at the door!

While RSVPs are not required, they are appreciated so we can get a head count for refreshments. RSVP here.

Conversations take place on the third Thursday of each month at 6:30pm and focus on topics important to that quarter’s charitable focus.
